CSA stands for "Community Supported Agriculture". Customers subscribe to the CSA before the season begins, and then receive a weekly basket of fresh produce. We pick everything the morning of delivery, and do our best to insure it is in the best condition possible when it is delivered.

2010 will be our third year of having a CSA. We are cutting back a little this year to concentrate more on market and restaurant sales. We also think having fewer members will allow us to cater to specific needs of families who participate. The share this year will be a 1/4 bushel basket of produce that is in season. We will begin the second week of May, and continue through the end of August. Cost is $200 for the season with a $100 deposit due when you sign up.

Lettuce, asparagus, greens, berries, and shiitake mushrooms start coming in in May. In June we usually start picking beans, squash, potatoes, herbs, and a few cucumbers. July brings the first okra of the season, along with corn, and all the things we started getting in June. By August we are still going with everything, and usually have melons and winter squash coming in too. Fresh cut flowers will also be included throughout most of the year to help your table look nice when you eat all that good food.

Participating in a CSA like ours can be a very rewarding experience. A real connection between the farm and the table is made by getting a better understanding of when and where good local food comes from. It's a great way of supporting local growers and getting a tasty and healthy reward in the bargain.
